Which devices work with CrystalTV

CrystalTV runs through a single application — IBO Player — on a single device per subscription. That deliberate narrowness is why installation notes below are specific rather than hand-waving.

All devices supported

  • Android TV
  • Android phone & tablet
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick
  • Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)
  • LG Smart TV (webOS)
  • Windows 10 & 11 PC
  • macOS
  • MAG / STB set-top box
  • Enigma2 receiver
  • Formuler box
  • Apple iPhone & iPad
  • Smart TV box

Platform-by-platform notes

IBO Player is one of the few IPTV applications that ships for closed-source Smart TV operating systems, which is precisely why we standardised on it. Non-Android televisions are usually where other providers run out of options.

Play Store or APK

Android TV & Android boxes

Install IBO Player straight from the Google Play Store, or side-load the APK from the IBODEV site. This is the smoothest path and the one we recommend to anyone buying new hardware.

Downloader side-load

Amazon Fire TV Stick

Fire OS needs the Downloader app first, then the official IBO Player code. Our guide walks through enabling installation from unknown sources, which Amazon buries under Developer Options.

Native app store

Samsung Smart TV (Tizen)

IBO Player is listed in the Samsung app store. No side-loading, no USB stick, no developer mode — search, install, launch.

LG Content Store

LG Smart TV (webOS)

Available directly in the LG Content Store. Be careful to pick the app named exactly “Ibo Player” — several similarly named clones sit in the results.

Desktop installer

Windows 10 & 11

A 64-bit desktop installer is published for Windows 10 and above. SmartScreen will warn about an unrecognised publisher; choose More info, then Run anyway.

DMG install

macOS

Drag the app into Applications, then approve it once under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. The approval is permanent.

App Store

iPhone & iPad

Install IBO Player from the App Store, then register the device on the IBO portal exactly as you would on a TV.

Portal / Xtream line

MAG / STB & Enigma2

Older set-top boxes and Enigma2 receivers accept the portal or Xtream line directly. Send us the device model on WhatsApp and we will supply the correct portal string.

Android TV build

Formuler boxes

Formuler hardware runs Android TV underneath, so the standard Android installation applies. Support can confirm the right build for your model.

Step-by-step screenshots for each platform live in the IBO Player setup guide.

What you need before you start

  • A stable internet connection — 15 Mbps is comfortable for FHD, 25 Mbps and above for 4K
  • One supported device (see the list above)
  • Your CrystalTV Xtream host, username and password from the activation email
  • The device MAC address and device key that IBO Player displays after first launch
  • About ten minutes, once

IBO Player uses remote playlist activation: you register the playlist on the IBO portal, and their cloud pushes it down to the app. It is an extra step, but it means the credentials never have to be typed on a TV remote.

If your hardware is not listed, message us before ordering — the contact page has the fastest routes.

Device questions

No. One subscription streams on one device at a time. A second simultaneous screen requires a second line — order it on the checkout page.

Yes. Register the new device's MAC address and device key on the IBO portal and remove the old one. Support can do it for you if the portal is being stubborn.

Not officially. CrystalTV is delivered through IBO Player only, so casting and browser playback fall outside what we support and troubleshoot.

The app itself carries a short complimentary evaluation period of around five days, after which IBODEV charges a one-off licence fee — roughly €5 for a year or €10 for lifetime. That fee goes to the app developer, not to CrystalTV.

Around 8 Mbps sustains HD comfortably, 15 Mbps handles FHD, and 25 Mbps and above is sensible for 4K. Wired Ethernet beats Wi-Fi every time on older Smart TVs.
